Ładuję…
1.comparative (stopień wyższy)
Forma przymiotnika, za pomocą której porównujemy dwie osoby lub rzeczy: bigger (większy), more interesting (ciekawszy). Zwykle stoi po niej than (niż). Przykład: My brother is taller than me.
2.superlative (stopień najwyższy)
Forma, która pokazuje, że ktoś lub coś wyróżnia się w całej grupie: the biggest (największy), the most interesting (najciekawszy). Przed nią stawiamy the. Przykład: Ania is the tallest girl in our class.
3.tall - taller - the tallest
wysoki - wyższy - najwyższy. Krótkie, jednosylabowe przymiotniki dostają końcówki -er i -est: small - smaller - the smallest, old - older - the oldest, fast - faster - the fastest. Przykład: This tree is taller than our house.
4.nice - nicer - the nicest
miły - milszy - najmilszy. Gdy przymiotnik kończy się na -e, dodajemy tylko -r i -st: large - larger - the largest, safe - safer - the safest. Przykład: Our new neighbour is nicer than the old one.
5.big - bigger - the biggest
duży - większy - największy. Gdy krótki przymiotnik kończy się układem spółgłoska + samogłoska + spółgłoska, podwajamy ostatnią literę: big - bigger, thin - thinner, sad - sadder, fat - fatter. Nie podwajamy jednak w ani y: slow - slower, new - newer. Przykład: An elephant is bigger than a horse.
6.hot - hotter - the hottest
gorący - gorętszy - najgorętszy. Kolejny przykład podwojenia ostatniej spółgłoski. Przykład: July is usually the hottest month in Poland.
7.cheap - cheaper - the cheapest
tani - tańszy - najtańszy. Tu nie podwajamy spółgłoski, bo przed „p” stoją dwie samogłoski (ea). Podobnie bez podwajania: cool - cooler (dwie samogłoski oo), long - longer (na końcu dwie spółgłoski). Przykład: The bus is cheaper than the taxi.
8.happy - happier - the happiest
Przykład: I'm happier today than yesterday.
9.easy - easier - the easiest
łatwy - łatwiejszy - najłatwiejszy. Nie piszemy „easyer” ani „more easy”. Przykład: English is easier than maths for me.
10.funny - funnier - the funniest
zabawny - zabawniejszy - najzabawniejszy. Przykład: Tom is the funniest boy in our class.
11.beautiful - more beautiful - the most beautiful
piękny - piękniejszy - najpiękniejszy. Długie przymiotniki (zwykle z dwiema i więcej sylabami, oprócz tych na -y) nie zmieniają końcówki: dodajemy przed nimi more i the most. Przykład: This is the most beautiful beach in Spain.
12.interesting - more interesting - the most interesting
ciekawy - ciekawszy - najciekawszy. Przykład: For me, history is more interesting than geography.
13.expensive - more expensive - the most expensive
drogi - droższy - najdroższy. Przykład: A car is more expensive than a bike.
14.difficult - more difficult - the most difficult
trudny - trudniejszy - najtrudniejszy. Przykład: This is the most difficult test of the year.
15.dangerous - more dangerous - the most dangerous
niebezpieczny - bardziej niebezpieczny - najbardziej niebezpieczny. Przykład: Sharks are more dangerous than dolphins.
16.boring - more boring - the most boring
nudny - nudniejszy - najnudniejszy. Przykład: The film was more boring than the book.
17.good - better - the best
dobry - lepszy - najlepszy. Forma nieregularna, trzeba ją zapamiętać. Nie mówimy „gooder” ani „goodest”. Przykład: Your idea is better than mine.
18.bad - worse - the worst
zły - gorszy - najgorszy. Forma nieregularna. Nie myl worse (gorszy) z worst (najgorszy). Przykład: Today's weather is worse than yesterday's.
19.far - farther/further - the farthest/furthest
daleki - dalszy - najdalszy. Forma nieregularna z dwiema poprawnymi wersjami: farther i further oraz the farthest i the furthest. Mówiąc o odległości, możesz użyć obu. Przykład: My school is farther from my house than the shop.
20.than
niż. Stoi po stopniu wyższym i łączy dwie porównywane rzeczy: Tom is older than Ben. Nie myl than (niż) z then (potem, wtedy).
21.the + superlative + in
Po stopniu najwyższym często podajemy grupę lub miejsce, w którym ktoś jest naj...: in my class, in the world, in our town. Przykład: The Nile is the longest river in Africa.
22.as ... as
tak samo... jak, równie... jak. Między as i as stawiamy przymiotnik w zwykłej formie, nie w stopniu wyższym. Przykład: Kate is as tall as her mum.
23.not as ... as
Przykład: A bike is not as fast as a car. Znaczy to samo co: A car is faster than a bike.
24.Błąd: more bigger, the most tallest
Nie łączymy dwóch sposobów stopniowania. Jeśli przymiotnik ma -er lub -est, nie dodajemy more ani most: bigger (nie more bigger), the tallest (nie the most tallest).
Notatka
Stopień wyższy i najwyższy - do czego służą
Najczęściej stoi po nim than (niż): My cat is smaller than my dog.
Stawiamy przed nim the: Ania is the tallest girl in our class.
To, jak utworzymy stopień, zależy od długości przymiotnika: krótkie dostają końcówki -er i -est, a przed długimi stawiamy more i the most.
Krótkie przymiotniki: -er i -est
Krótkie przymiotniki (zwykle jednosylabowe) dostają końcówki -er i -est: small - smaller - the smallest, old - older - the oldest, fast - faster - the fastest.
Długie przymiotniki: more i the most
Przed nimi stawiamy more (bardziej) w stopniu wyższym i the most (najbardziej) w stopniu najwyższym:
- beautiful - more beautiful - the most beautiful,
- interesting - more interesting - the most interesting,
- expensive - more expensive - the most expensive,
- difficult - more difficult - the most difficult.
Przykład: This book is more interesting than the film. It's the most interesting book in our library.
Ważne
Nie łączymy dwóch sposobów naraz: mówimy bigger albo the tallest, nigdy more bigger ani the most tallest.
Formy nieregularne: good, bad, far
good - better - the best; bad - worse - the worst; far - farther/further - the farthest/furthest.
Przykłady: My new phone is better than the old one. It was the worst day of my holiday. The station is farther away than the shop.
Porównania w zdaniu: than, the ... in, as ... as
Najczęstsze konstrukcje porównawcze:
- stopień wyższy + than: Kraków is bigger than Zakopane.
- the + stopień najwyższy + in (miejsce lub grupa): The Nile is the longest river in Africa. Ola is the best student in our class.
- as + zwykły przymiotnik + as (tak samo... jak): My bag is as heavy as yours.
- not as + przymiotnik + as (nie tak... jak): A bike is not as fast as a car.
Zdanie z not as ... as można zamienić na stopień wyższy: A bike is not as fast as a car. = A car is faster than a bike.
Ważne
Po stopniu wyższym stoi than (niż), a nie then (potem). W as ... as przymiotnik zostaje w zwykłej formie: as tall as, nie as taller as.
